To the muse in front of me,
I like questions.
I like light-hearted, playful, surface-level, pulling your cheeks up into a smile kind of questions, such as "Do you like ice cream?"
I like curly, mysterious, curious, making you pause for a moment type questions, such as "Tell me about someone you miss?"
I like heavy-hitting, lip-quivering, heart-stopping, nail-biting questions, such as "Is this what you really want?"
I like jovial, mercurial, celestial questions with forever-changing answers, such as "Would you live in space one day?"
I like sleepy, dreamy, tired-brain, asked out of exhaustion kind of questions, such as "What side of the bed do you want to sleep on?"
I like hungry, tummy-rumbling, craving-induced, ‘fix this now or else kind of questions’, such as "What would you like for dinner?"
I like intellectual, cerebral, problem-solving, bright, ignite the left side of the mind kind of questions, such as "How do I create code for this?"
I like philosophical, star-gazing, soul-searching, existential, ‘surely I'm not the only one’ kind of questions such as "Are we the most advanced civilisation of all time?"
I like insightful, meaningful, heartfelt, get-to-know-you questions, such as "What traits do you admire most in your best friend?"
I like brittle, rusty, crackly, 'I haven't asked this in a while' kind of questions, such as "Would you like to go for coffee?"
I like strait-laced, down-the-barrel, tell-it-how-it-is kind of questions, such as "Do you have any regrets?"
I like sparkly, championing, golden, make you feel like a rockstar questions, such as "Could you tell me what you're most proud of?"
I like slow, take-a-deep-breathe, think on this one for a while kind of questions, such as "What's the cost of being busy?"
I like adventurous, island-hopping, suitcase-filling, let's jump on a plane tomorrow kind of questions, such as "If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would it be?"
I like spurious, tell-tale, fictitious, fraudulent, 'I don't mean it' kind of questions, such as "If you were to rob a bank, how would you do it?"
I like halcyon, nostalgic, remember the good ol' days kind of questions, such as "What was your childhood like?"
I like to ponder, wander, and marvel at the world before me. I've travelled the world and gone back around, and nothing has changed - I still like questions.
And so it still stands,
Can I ask you one?
